Morris Minor Owners Club

I have placed a meter across the 2 terminals and got 12.5 volts, I then started the car and it went up to 12.9.
Its seems worse in the mornings when its cold

Any ideas

Just wondered if i could test to see if the Dynamo is charging the battery as i has has difficulty starting the ol girl the last few night when coming home from work in the dark.
I have a meter but not sure where to place the probes
