Sorry to hear that, Rob. I'll have a wee think now that you have encouraged and inspired me to get on with my '49 lowlight.
I would dearly like to find some new quarterligt rubbers for the aforementioned, but I suspect you re talking about metal items?!
Good luck!

Poor quality parts!
About three or four years ago I started a thread on my Traveller restoration. Body shell was welded and rust treated, resprayed and repainted in Old English White. Rear axle, springs and hubs/drums all cleaned, sprayed and fitted and front suspension rebuilt with new brakes, bushes etc. Thought you ...

Re: Bare Metal Restoration
I've quickly read the posts above and concur with the use of such mildly acidic solutions such as citric acid, phosphoric acid etc. Branded products such as those from Bilt Hammer such as DeOx C also do the job but are a lot more expensive! However, what I didn't see mentioned was the fact that if A...

Hi,
Just been in our local Aldi and they still have one or two of the 2.5 hp compressors in at £89.99p. Might be worth having a wee look!!

Re: Waxoyl application
Another possibility is that they recently had wee compressors in Aldi at a reasonable sort of price and they, like most of the Workzone power tools they sell, come with a three year warranty. Perhaps not up to trade use but should be good enough for DIY. may have one or two left in your local store?...

Morris Minor Million 699 MN on Postcard.
I'm currently listing a job lot of old picture postcards on Ebay, mainly from the sixties and seventies, and I came across this one posted to my parents in 1972, but I have no idea when the photo was actually taken. It is of Queen's Promenade and Onchen Head, Douglas, Isle of Man, and it clearly sho...

Re: Bottom of Tourer rust issues help needed
There are some folk on this site who are mighty handy with a mig welder. Unfortunately I am not one of them!! Wish I was! What you need to do is offer someone the opportunity of a couple of free weeks in California in exchange for welding up your car. "A fair exchange is no robbery," as my...

Nice bit if kit from Aldi
Have no links or affiliations to this store whatsoever, but just now they are selling a set of cased digital calipers in hardened stainless steel for the ludicrous price of £8.99p. Perhaps not up to precision engineering standards, but with a 3 year guarantee can you really go wrong!?[frame] http://...

Re: MORRIS MINOR HOG ROAST CAR
Ok, so you can't see underneath, and it does look as though it's been skilfully done, but what a waste of a seemingly good car! Good looking rear lights, better than average boot badge/reflector, nice paint job. What a shame.

Re: Pretentious Experts
I am a child of the fifties (well, almost) and spent time as a student in the early seventies, and that was when I honed my body restoration skills to perfection! As anyone from that era will know, all good rust repairs involve fibreglass matting and a suitable two-part filler paste, or gloopy, syru...
