The paint and underseal is peeling off the underside of Ned, whats the best treatment to go on the underneath.
I will get it up on some ramps at the weekend and thoroughly brush him down but would like something that will not rust or peel to go back on.

Do you mean that when sitting with the engine running, in neutral, clutch engaged (pedal 'up/released'), there is a whirring noise?

Yes. Noise goes away when actually driving.

Recently bought a minor with the toyota gearbox. Works fine, crunches at times but in neutral, clutch out, it makes a loud whurring noise. Clutch in noise goes away.
Is this a sign of major work required?
If so what action is required?
And who sells the bits?

Definitley have a five speed box (i can find 5 gears) but i just wanted to confirm the origin of it for future spares. Looking at bellhousing the top has a large chunk out of it so i can see the flywheel?

Would also like to know the ratios to work out whether to get a 3.9 or 3.7 diff to go with it?

Found the plate and it is indeed a 1100.
Where abouts is the cylinder head number, i'm quite intriuged by the red paint and would like to know if the cylinder head has been changed.

I've just bought a morris 1000 off ebay. It was advertised with a 5 speed box (ford? how do i tell) but i think it has an HIF38 carb and 3-1 manifold? It has odd sized wheels and disc brakes.
