Re: trafficator switch position.
I've got a '60 and have traffickers in place and all present and correct but not wired up. Indicators have been added later but I would like to get them going again on a separate switch. Anyone have any idea what that would of looked like?

Re: ignition light question
aha! I spoke well too soon there. Flat battery this morning. As soon as I have some time I will take it step by step and check all the wiring. Looking at the wiring diagram I wonder if the interior light is the suspect. It (and the horn) didnt work for a while and then it seemed to sort itself out (...

Everything else seems fine, and the ign light comes on when you turn the key. Ive searched the internet/these forums and couldnt ...

I took it for a little drive around everything was fine then a loss of power and it cut out. Took the dist ca...

Re: starter trouble
I assumed that the fan had flattened the battery as nothing else had been turned on, other than the lights which were definitely off. Obviously if the fan is wired to the ignition then its not that. Definitely didn't leave the ignition on as my house keys are on the same set. Ah, true the ignition w...

starter trouble
OK, to be honest I hope I haven't done anything stupid but I'm pretty sure I have. Friday night get home from work and I notice the fan hasn't quite stopped on the heater. I fiddled with it a bit an it seemed to stop. Next morning I turn ignition and the fan starts, I turn it off properly and try to...

Re: Engine Cut Out
Well bad batch or not, it would appear I was wrong about the age of the pump. :o All fitted this evening and everything seems fine, might be me but there does seem to be an occasional guff of petrol fumes. Not sure though and nothing seems to be leaking/wet. Also the new pump (genuine su) makes a bi...

Re: Engine Cut Out
ok, had a little play when I got home from work. Oh the joys of being a chef. ran the engine for a good 15 minutes recreated the cut out. I heard some ticking from the pump BUT after trying to restart it a bit to make sure it was the "issue" not just a stall, when I tapped the pump it tick...

Re: Engine Cut Out
well as unlikely as it sounded and believe me I saw 2 mechanics today, 1 in the pub and another in the street, that told me it wouldnt be the problem. It appears to be have been exactly that. Many thanks to Maurice at http://mtr-restorations.blogspot.co.uk/ for helping me out with the part! It would...

Re: Engine Cut Out
they managed to recreate the problem and found that the fuel was getting that far and not filling the chamber properly. The carb is a new part so im assuming is faulty construction (assuming being the word, I havent seen the part etc. yet) If this all turns out to be correct am I looking at a new ca...

Re: Engine Cut Out
Thanks for the quick replies/help guys...... Has the car got a locking fuel cap? If so then it must be vented. If the engine stalls again release te fuel cap and if there is a rush of air then that is the problem. Check that the fuel pump is ticking and that the float chamber is full of petrol. Are ...
