If the chassis plate number doesn't match the log book - you have a problem..... Could suggest a 'ringer'. Is the difference wide - or simply an S read as a 5 - something like that? Did the garage refuse the MOT ?? What is the chassis number from the plate - and from the log book? And what age do y...

If it's a 1964 Saloon/Trav/Conv. you should have a STAMPED chassis number (numbers only) - stamped directly into the bodyshell (as Mike has explained), plus an additional "Cowley" plate screwed to the o/s bulkhead which repeats this number, but includes prefixes. hi thanks for your reply ...

The chassis plate is situated on the driver's side of the engine compartment bulkhead, or thereshould be four screw holes where it has been. The chassis number should also be stamped on the bulkhead near to the accellerator cable. hi thanks for your reply i will have a look near the accelerator cab...

hi all i have just mot ed and taxed my 1964 morris minor that has been of the road from 1985 and the mot tester couldn't find the chassis no . if anyone can point me in the right direction thanks kieron
