Re: Italian Registration
Thanks Brian, Already found that thread ;-) it's all i can find too, almost zero information, the post from Sacha was very encouraging but i'm looking for more definite info before i go to the effort and expense of trying only to fail. I've managed to find a classic car club in the nearest town to w...

Re: dynamo or alternator
Hi all and Ray. Seems like it is a failing battery after all! A neighbour of mine couldn't help but knock my door last week after seeing the moggy on the drive and asked about it, long story short, he put his battery from his MGB onto my car as they are the same (not sure they should be) and it star...

Re: rear passenger footwell water
ok, i've taken out the rear seats, all looks dry to me but i'll wait for the next rain to come along and see if it helps identify the source. i am starting to suspect that it may be coming from the direction of the sill somewhere, but without pulling off the carpet which is wrapped over and glues on...

Re: dynamo or alternator
Ok, i'll check the voltage with revs next then, thx again for the advice.
So am i looking at a new battery then based on the fact that it looks like the dynamo is working and the voltage at the battery terminals means it should be charging?

Re: dynamo or alternator

Re: dynamo or alternator
seems like the jury is out then and i should first make sure that it is indeed the dynamo before throwing money at a replacement,be it a new dynamo or an alternator. the reason for considering an alternator is that i'm hoping to use the car more regularly and am considering a number of 'upgrades' to...

My brother and I used it as our support vehicle on our charity bike ride a week or so ago, it made around 1200 miles but wouldn't start 180 miles before the end, bit of a shame but pleased it did s...

Re: rear passenger footwell water
so sealing it really is the best thing to do then, i was trying to think long term with a view to a re-spray a few years down the line, so getting it water tight first, then upgrading a few elements to make better for every day driving then when i was happy with how it was set-up etc get sprayed. so...

Re: rear passenger footwell water

Hi all, newbie here and to car mechanics and to morris minors for that matter so be gentle. I've recently inherited my dad's 4 door 56 split screen, we took it on a road trip from birmingham to scotland and back to bournemouth over the last two weeks, on a chairty bicycle ride, almost made it! think...
