Jonathan, you should ALWAYS "chock and block" whenever working with a jacked vehicle...
axle stands are best, but make sure that whatever you use is stable.
handbrake on, in gear and a chock behind/infront of wheel.

KIFE...If the car really is £6,500 then It should be absolutely perfect, you could get an excellent one for half of that price in the UK. The car will be noisy compared to the modern types but the noise should be exhaust and road noise not mechanical rumblings. Don't like the sound of the one you a...
