Sorry for the lack of posting. I was too hasty in blaming the quality of new speedometer cables. I reinstalled my old one and it snapped too. The problem was the NOS speedometer I bought. I have a question about mounting my steering wheel. On a 1958 Morris should the third "spoke set" on the banjo steering wheel be pointing at six o'clock or twelve o'clock?

You've probably already finished the work but I ran mine inside the cabin. I live on a dirt road and sometimes there is brush on the road. I wanted everything protected. I had to lengthen most wires.

I have a question on wiring my fuel gauge. I've put in a new wiring loom to my black 1967 (1408) speedometer. I'm having trouble getting the fuel gauge to read. Am I correct in thinking that A = green/black wire from fuel sender to fuel gauge, B = 10V power from the voltage regulator to fuel gauge, ...

The fact that you are willing to look away while stopped on an incline says it all! The grill chrome came out well and looks all lined up.

I can't remember which way, but tighten the adjustment by turning the nut. Just don't overtighten or the clutch will wear.

I put relays on the headlamp circuits because I wanted to run 60 watt headlamps while retaining the dash pull switch. Also the wiring loom I purchased from one of the major suppliers (rhymes with a bodily function) had very thin wires (16 or 18 gauge) so I needed to run new wires anyway.

Boy, I am always amazed how much time it takes to do the simplest tasks. I just spent six hours doing little jobs; mainly wiring the front wings for headlamps and turn signals. I'm not complaining - it was a very enjoyable day - but a restoration sure sucks up the hours. I can see why paying someone...
