Fuel gauge wiring
I fitted a new wiring harness when I rebuilt my 1964 convertible in 2015 so it may not be as original but I did get everything working at the time. The fuel gauge is the Gold type and has worked perfectly but the needle did move about slightly as the fuel slopped around. Recently the oil pressure wa...

Re: Rear brakes sticking when driving.
You were absolutely right johngrigg! When I stripped the cylinders from the back plate it was obvious they had been struggling to slide. It didn't help that when I had done my rebuild last year I had not removed the paint around that area. I also fitted new cylinders which were not flat at all where...

Rear brakes sticking when driving.
My rear brakes stick slightly when I brake normally. The handbrake works fine when stationary or even if I try it whilst driving. The brakes stick sometimes when I am driving normally and I have found I can release them by tugging the handbrake or by stopping and reversing or sometimes they release ...

Re: Tonneu Cover
Thank's everybody. I think I will try my local car trimmer with the pictures. The one on Ebay is a bit tatty and the last colour I wanted was black (sun heat etc)
Budgie...I'll let you know the outcome. If I do get a local company to make one for my car they will then have a pattern.

Tonneu Cover
Has anybody got or seen or has a photo of a Tonneau cover for a Convertible (obviously!)
I am moving my 1964 LHD car to Spain this year and it would be easier than having to erect the hood each time I leave it parked etc.

Re: Wiring Towbar for LED
All working fine now.
I ended up fitting a buzzer in the boot to make it legal. It was easier. Dont know how long I will be able to stand that noise though.
Thanks for the help

Wiring Towbar for LED
I want to wire a towbar and have the cables already in place as part of the new Autosparks wiring loom I fitted last year. Autosparks recon I don't need any other flasher unit than the original one but to be legal I think I need a repeater on the dash? Also I have an LED light bar for the small trai...

Re: Marina 1.3 oil pressure take off
As I had the sender I fitted it on a tee behind the gauge as you suggested. It works fine and it's good to have the oil pressure light working as well.
Thanks for all the advice.

Re: Marina 1.3 oil pressure take off
When I stuck my camera down the side of the engine I found another port!
I assume it's the port just under the screw on oil filter housing pointing down at an angle?[frame][/frame]

Re: Marina 1.3 oil pressure take off
Thanks for the quick replies. It must be the small port near the starter motor then. That will be a real pain as I wanted to fit an oil pressure gauge!
I will try to post a picture

Marina 1.3 oil pressure take off
I do have another problem as I can't find the oil pressure switch take off on the block. Mine is a 1.3 Marina engine with the screw on oil canister where the pressure switch is normally positioned. I think it might be on the exhaust side of the block as there is a plug I haven't investigated yet.The...

Alternator wiring Loom
On my 1963 convertible rebuild I am just fitting a new wiring loom I got from Autosparks which I ordered with the addition of wiring for alternator. As a real novice to wiring am I right in assuming there is now no need for the voltage regulator I bought? the wires in the loom seem to mean just that...

Re: Marina 1.3 Breathers
Thanks everybody. I will look at all the options. I am going to be using the car to Spain so am fitting an electric cooling fan so there should be room for some type of breather on the timing chain cover.

Re: Marina 1.3 Breathers
No, there is no vent can on the timing chain cover. It is the 1.3 Marina engine with the screw on oil filter near the distributer

Marina 1.3 Breathers
I am fitting a newly rebuilt 1.3 Marina engine to my Convertible. I have a fitted a Hif 38 carb and found all the connection info on this site but there seems to be lots of conflicting info on breathers. I know I must connect the Rocker box cover vent to the carb but what else? Should I take a vent ...

Sorted. I found one on Ebay. New Old Stock £18. Better than having to buy a whole unit.
