Re: Gaydon
Had a great day at Gaydon today, despite the fuel pump giving up as we made it onto the car park. It must have been the bit of motorway driving as she was fine on the way home, although we took it easier. I think we counted 217 Travellers, 26 saloons, 3 pick-ups, 3 1/2 vans and something like 35 oth...

Thanks for all of the replies, particularly KatiePotatie & Matt Tomkins; your personal knowledge of the guy is most reassuring.
Yes it's a shame about the added VAT but far cheaper than anywhere else from what I've found.

Engine Centre Ltd, Willenhall
Hi All Does anyone have any experience of using this company? They trade on ebay as selling refurbished engines and are a fair bit cheeper than others... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MORRIS-MINOR-1098cc-COMPLETE-REBUILT-ENGINE-/261010747295?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cc573ef9f#h...

Another master cylinder question
In the technical tips for master cylinder removal http://www.mmoc.org.uk/index.php?page=320 Rob suggests that this can be done by only removing the small part of the cover plate. Do I assume that you would have to leave the push-rod assembly in the car to do this as you haave no way of disconnecting...

I think the FJ policy says that if you cancel part way through the term of the policy, you should get a pro-rata refund less and admin fee.

Re: A newbie question about dash lights and controls
Our '59 Traveller also has a white "Rotak (??)" switch on the far right under the dash which is just a remote isolator for the fan. Might be worth checking that you don't have something similar. I guess it saved the previous owner reaching for the rotary knob to turn the fan on.

Re: National Rally - participants needed!
Hopefully, me and my lads will be comming down on Friday night till Sunday. James will be driving Sky now he's passed his test and I'll be driving Molly with Alan navigating, if I can get her finished and through her 1st MOT in over 30 years (maybe first ever?). We'll be tenting for the first time a...

Re: Quote from Footman James
Well I've just been ringing around for my 20yr old son who's hoping to pass on his 3rd try this month and FJ are quoting £960 FC. They are quoting the same for TPFT. Lancaster refuse to quote for anyone under 25yrs It's £435 FC with him and my 17yr old as learners and goes up to £1670 with the 17yr ...

Re: Spotted today.
Passed a yellow traveller in Stafford the other week, and then saw it again near Pottle Pool island on Cannock Chase last week. Unusual as everything was painted yellow, including the wood. (Well not everything, the windows were clear and the rubber black, but you know what I mean)

Re: National Rally, getting close
I can't wait till the weekend, but we wont be in either Morris this year as we're taking the caravan on up to Alnwick and Loch Lomond straight after. Comming up on Friday and leaving Sunday after dinner. Should be good with the weather predictions. As we're not comming in Sky, and Molly is no where ...

I've found the illustration in the manual to help with this, not sure how easy the clip is to get to but I'm sure we'll do it.[frame][/frame]

Removing passenger door lock
Hi guys
Can anyone tell me how to remove the internal locking lever so that I can get the door handle off to spray the door. We managed it on the drivers door, but I don't know how to get the lever off on the passenger side.

Re: Salloon targa top
How much of the roof do you need? I've still got the roof from the traveller hedge find if it is any use, which you can have for nowt. I'm almost double your 40 miles, but it's there if you need it. There is some damage above the b pillar, but let me know and I'll send photo's if you need them. Brian

Spare drive space near the National?
Hi all. We're planning to take the caravan up to Scotland after the national, but can't really justify taking Sky (or Molly if she's ready) up there with us. So I thought that I would ask if there was anyone with some Morris friendly space for us to leave her near the Harewood area while we head for...

Re: Dynamo woes
If only there were some in the local scrap yards!
What I don't understand is, why have the soldered joints only melted with the new brushes, which I also fitted to the third dynamo.
I ensured that the brushes were well bedded in, and there were no problems until the run this morning.

Re: Dynamo woes
Thanks for the reply BMC. I fitted another dynamo, which was in visibly good condition. Went out for a drive on Sunday, between spraying the bonnet for Molly, and all went well. James took Sky out yesterday without problems. I came to work today and, probably as I drive faster than James, smelt thin...

Dynamo woes
Hi all Last year I had the dynamo on Sky fail on the way to work which, with a poor battery, left us having to temporeraly repair the wire connection to one of the brushes. I latter replaced the brushes but on the next drive the dynamo made an awfull noise and when I got back and stripped it down ag...
