Re: Young enthusiast Bangers and Cash
The club currently do run a "Minors on Tour" rally, both in France, which is probably the one more popular, and in the UK, each year (usually...). The MOT to France has quite a high proportion of younger members who join in, I'm unsure about the UK one as that doesn't seem to get as much p...

The previous link was just for the page, this is the more interactive group to join, if you haven't already!
Cheers

Re: the national and other past times
Sorry to be so pernickety, but Staithes is pronounced exactly how it looks....I live all of about 15 minutes away from Scampston Hall, I pass it every day, so I know the area pretty well.. Dalby Forest is one awesome place to visit if anyone is wanting day trips, there's pretty much something for ev...

Re: Oil Pressure Warning Light
The oil was lower than minimum but not empty. When you say she's been run....she hasnt really. She's been a project to get back on the road, she has driven me to town and back once, approximately 8 miles, and we had no problems and the light hadnt come on. I then started her up the other day ready t...

Re: Oil Pressure Warning Light
It's not overly noisy and it's definitely not knocking.
I will buy myself an oil filter and pressure switch and hope that they make a difference.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
Hello, My oil pressure warning light came on today, just sat at idle. I checked oil level and it was too low, so I hoped that was the problem and topped it up. However the light still wont go out...is it normal to stay on for a bit after topping up of oil, or should it have gone out virtually straig...

Re: Faulty Horn
Thanks for all the help, it was the fuse, the metal prongs that held it in were incredibly loose, hence why it sometimes worked and sometimes didnt. I swapped it for an inline fuse and the horn works perfectly

Re: Faulty Horn
I only have a brown wire and a brown and black wire to the horn. But i know the horn definitely works, we tested it on my dads camper im afraid you're talking to quite the thicko when it comes to electrics, which is the non ignition fuse?

Faulty Horn
Hello, I have been recently putting my latest mog back on the road after 20 odd years, and one of the biggest issues im having is with the horn. Especially because me and electrics do not go so well together. It instantly confuses me. :( I think I have established that the wiring is at fault, seeing...

Re: Handbrake Issues
Disconnect the handbrake cable from the wheel cylinder and slide the inner cable back and forward through the outer cable. If it does not run smoothly then you need a new cable. It didnt move at all... :-? It didnt go that smoothly, every single nut and bolt I came across snapped incredibly easily,...

Re: Handbrake Issues
Thanks for all the advice. :) Don't worry, i never leave my car parked up for a long time on the handbrake, i dont often use the handbrake at all, i always just leave it parked in gear because i cant trust it .. I asked my dad for his opinion again when he got in from work...he never gets a rest! He...

Re: Handbrake Issues
I'm ending up replacing the cylinders at least every year, they werent replaced that long ago :( but i dont have very much luck when it comes to my brakes. My dad suggested unhooking the handbrake cable from that wheel and seeing if it will spin freely then, so obviously if it still doesnt i'll have...

Handbrake Issues
My car recently failed her MOT again, issues being many holes and the handbrake not working efficiently enough. I'm hoping someone will be able to enlighten me as to what could be wrong with the handbrake. The issue is that the handbrake doesnt seem to work on the nearside wheel. With the rear of th...

Re: HOW SAFE ARE WE?
Thinner wheels are better in fresh snow, without a doubt because, as you said, they just cut through the snow. Some people actually prefer to drive mogs in the winter and snow, they're less likely to get stuck than a fair few modern cars, and as long as you know how to control them on ice they're gr...

Re: HOW SAFE ARE WE?
I own a traveller that i used daily, until september when i took her off road for some light restoration over winter. I then bought a Ford Ka to use as a replacement. I have never felt as safe in the Ka as i did in my trav, and aftet hearing horror stories from various people i personally cant wait ...

Traveller Window Channels
I'm about to start restoring my travellers wood, and I want to do a proper job and take the sliding windows out as well (the wood has only been revarnished once in the last 20 years and the windows remained in place). The window channels are completely knackered and will definitely need replacing, b...

Re: Starting/Charging Problems...
I should possibly also add that the battery voltage was tested when we broke down and while running it was reading 12 volts. Is it not meant to read slightly higher when running as it's supposed to be charging?
