I have recently bought a 1969 traveller with seat belts fitted to the front seats but not the back. Are these mandatory ?

Thanks for the tips. My traveller in Scotland is garaged and doesn't get much use as i'm only here a the weekend and it mostly rains. Perhaps Alex Salmond can negotiate Scotland's righful share of the sun !

It was square, cleaned up all the connections, fingers crossed for some trouble free driving

Have fitted the new solenoid and there have been no problems on starting (so far). Will lets you know if there are ay further dramas ! Thanks for the advice

Lights flicker momentarily on start. Have checked and cleaned connections and will replace the solenoid just in case.

Newton Seat Repairs
I'm interested in a traveller for sale and have had a good look over the car. One of the problems is the Newton Drivers seat needs a patch or repair. Should I get in touch with with Newton or is this something I could do with a swatch of the correct material ? Sorry haven't got a pic.

Intermittent Problem on starting
I have an intermittent proble on starting. On turning the key the igniton "sticks" making a click sound and wont turn the engine over. This can last for several goes or might just clear after one. The battery is new and I have tried all th usual checks, plugs, contacts etc. Trickle chargin...

Thanks for the advice guys, think I'll start with the condenser. The engine conks out after a couple of minutes idling so haven't driven it. Revving doesn't seem to make any difference.

My Engine conks Out
My engine has just starting conking out after a few minutes running. It starts again then conks out. Could this be a problem with the coil ? The timing seems to be ok and I've checked all the spark plug and distributor connnections.
