Re: Minors Racing

Great to meet the "Bluebell" team at Silverstone today. Good racing with tricky conditions as the rain came. Agree with Andy 100% that some of the A30-35-40 are so trick with megabuck powertrains; that destroys the purpose of classic saloon racing. Now I am retired will try to come to as m...

Re: my 1st national rally

Will second that. Although photos look like Saturday not like that on Sunday ! My first national since Blenheim and enjoyed the day. Loads of info and encouragement for pressing on with Rosie the Traveller. Great to see Custom take pride of place. Good venue but tearooms a bit overwhelmed at lunch o...

Re: Traveller woodwork treatment

Welcome to the world of traveller wood finishes. Rose our traveller has 18 year old wood from Steve Foreman that was. This has been re coated with the Dulux system used at the time.now it is being stripped back, cuprinol 5 star and the search for a new finish. I looked at Le Tonk and was very impres...

Hi Dom, Good whinge and lesson to really check out packaged deals. Re: RILEY 1.5 FRONT BRAKES UPGRADE

Absolutely right the cost of parts is easily 3 times Morris Minor. Market forces supply and demand. I used to run an 1958 A55 alongside my Austin 8cwt van and the prices were painful. Andy came accross as a pragmatist and happy to make a buck from Minor upgrades but does not go public. Luckily the r...

Re: RILEY 1.5 FRONT BRAKES UPGRADE

Had a good conversation with Andy today at Wolseley 1500/Riley 1.5 Spares. mob.07860 360690.They offer in effect a conversion kit for fitting Riley 1.5 drums to a Minor. Riley 1.5 brake hoses because the Minor ones do not fit into the shaped back plate. A different tube nut is needed for the metal b...

DVLA REGISTRATION AND SORN

Before I start the journey of enlightenment with the DVLA maybe someone has already trodden this path. My 1966 Traveller came to my hands in 1979 and was on the road until 1989; last time it was registered so before the SORN cut off. It has been garaged off the road since and now with some time and ...

Re: RILEY 1.5 FRONT BRAKES UPGRADE

Yes I agree they are impressive beasts. A couple of people have highlighted the balance issue but not to the extent of needing any direct intervention. Glad to report back on result, not ruled out servo conversion if needed, may hinge on whether daughter will be driving having been spoilt with Peuge...

RILEY 1.5 FRONT BRAKES UPGRADE

"Rose" my Traveller is slowly being restored back to good health. I have a set of Riley 1.5 front hubs, drums etc. complete. Andy at Wolseley 1500/Riley 1.5 spares is sorting new D4 Girling cylinders. Have checked the drums all OK and new set of riveted shoes. Hopefully picture attached. R...
