Re: RIDICULOUS INSURANCE PRICES???
I used Adrian Flux for four years. I am a Certified ROSPA Advanced driving Tutor - AF have a special on ROSPA members. The first year I obtained a 60% discount on my renewal quote by going with Equity Red Star Insurance (a Lloyds consortium) through Adrian Flux. When I was sent the renewal for year ...

Re: RIDICULOUS INSURANCE PRICES???
I went to Adrian Flux four years ago because I am a RoSPA Advanced Driving Tutor. They treated me well for the first two years (my wife also went with them for her car insurance). Last year they were 'iffy' but after 'negotiations' became reasonable. This ye we have both left Adrian Flux as, once ag...

Re: morris minor - condensation / damp problem
I don't know if this will help but; My Mum had a severe condensation problem in her 1961 4-door saloon. The drivers footwell was always damp (sodden) after rain. It took me a while to solve it, but it was an incorrectly fitted front wing. There is a semi-circular shaped drain on the wing just forwar...

Re: Engine sizes
Is there an oblong (aluminium) plate riveted to the top of the block by the front cylinder?
There should be a back stamped number on it - that will tell you what the engine is.

Re: First post - please be gentle...
Thanks for responses guys, I guess there is no-one around from the North-West then.
As for the 'respected' garage; since 1988 they have had over £18,000 from Mum according to the bills - I'm not going to bother with them - just happy that they will not get another penny from her.

Re: First post - please be gentle...
Thanks for that bmc; yes, I was rather disappointed to discover the missing bottom plate - effectively no filtering - the vehicle has been 'serviced' and repaired by the same reputable Morris garage for years. Yes, it has been reconditioned in the past. The current 1098 is working well (and the oil ...

Re: First post - please be gentle...
Thank you Brucek, Mum was a member here many, many years ago and has driven UAP 164 for 50 years now, but I fear that her spanner wielding days are now over! She has also lived in the same house for over 60 years - she doesn't like change much. Yes, I will post a picture of he at the wheel when I ne...

First post - please be gentle...
Good morning everyone, I have just started to strip the original 1961 948 engine from my Mums Morris (she is 92 in May and still drives her car daily - it currently has a replacement 1098 in it but I'd like to keep it as original as possible). Although I will probably have a lot of questions over th...
