Re: Other drivers...

The biggest issue is one of the most pleasant. Getting out of the car park without someone stopping by for a natter, " I had one years ago...........my dad owned one when we were kids, holidays were better then.................I would love to own one, are they difficult to maintain?...............

Re: 17year old Insurance for Minor

I use footman James, but will be looking around as usual very soon. Mods to the car will make a big difference, a standard engine etc will help keep the premium low. Also car security, where is it parked overnight, is it fitted with a disk-lock, are the windows etched with the number plate, is it fi...

Re: old timer special?

The duotone fits, that is as a 1964 model.
That option ceased that year, so my 1965 with duotone blue and cream is strictly speaking customised I suppose, but it looks fabulous.

A sunvisor, mine is far better for it.
Metal is best and leave a gap for the wind to get through, otherwise leave it well alone, they knew what they were doing when they built them.

A simple beasty, the ratchet wrench goes one end and the socket the other, just a belt drive saves a great deal of literal back ache reaching for the unreachable nut and bolt.

Re: 1000 wheel question re: breakage

I would have thought steel wheels are at least repairable, but I have ben around minors for so long now and cannot recall any wheel issues. The only wheel I broke was an alloy one fitted to a turbo nissan bluebird, in a very large and well hidden pothole. The other benefit of the old steel wheels is...

I realise this horse has bolted, but for other owners I would be inclined not to print the key number, as per the certificate shown.
Keys can be purchased off the shelf using that number alone.

Re: What to do to make them a better driver???

Well. It depends on what you plan to do, lots of miles? Weekend miles in the summer? Mine owned for almost 15 years is completely standard, s.u. fuel pump, points, (no electronic ignition) original seats, engine, gearbox, the whole car. Additions include a refurbished interior including carpets, a m...

Hardly noteworthy, but testament to these little marvels that we all love. The Traveller had not moved much all winter, 50 mile tops. Much of the time I couldn't even get it out due to work going on behind it. So yesterday on a whim, over 100 miles to Matlock Bath and back. Never missed a beat and ...

Nice to see, I used to work in the pneumatic industry, as well as inventors and makers of the Schrader tyre valve, Schrader were a big U.S.A. process valve and actuator manufacturer with a large presence in Europe. They were purchased by the Parker group U.S.A. and were lost in the mass of pneumatic...
