Re: Official Workshop Manuals
I also find the parts manual very useful particularly the drawings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182110840564?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-153316-527457-8&mkcid=2&itemid=182110840564&targetid=4585032215660915&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=...

Re: Cylinder head removal 1098
A copy of the blue soft backed workshop manual is an essential. It will show you how to best remove the cylinder head and associated components. It is one of the easier jobs, personally I would check see if a decoke is necessary too, I just love the sound of valves plopping when grinding them in. ht...

Re: American road tests a Minor
What a weird air filter ?
And the first time I have heard a quarter light called a smokers window.
I wonder why there is a chrome rolls royce badge on the rear number plate ?
And apparently the car is dated because after all 1957 Britain was behind the times.
Nice kid, but he needs to do his research.

You can make a start by replacing google with another search engine. I use duckduckgo.com They block people that have access, (legally, as they pay google) to your search results. They are known as trackers and use your search history to target advertising. Whenever I use duckduckgo they inform me o...

A series engine info
I purchased a copy of the A series engine by Graham Robson and straight away in the acknowledgements found a wonderful source of info. I used my search engine to look for John Baker "Austin memories" a website full of good stuff. Anyways up, its worth a look. http://www.austinmemories.com/...

Simon and Garfunkel summed it up in the lyrics of the song the boxer.

Re: Advice please, new owner, hiding contents of Traveller
If you google car cargo covers you will be offered a choice for other models, I think you will have to take one of those, fit a couple of brackets to slot over the back seats and arrange catches for the other end.
Could be a nice project.
You will have to measure the width of course.

I concur, its not listed in my ESM parts catalogue.
The good news though must be, it looks perfectly useable as it is.

For detail and something you can refer to at leisure, can I suggest the book, the worlds supreme small car by Paul Skilleter ? ebay has a copy for £7.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305162323460?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&custom...

Re: Fuel pump woes
I dunno. I had an intermittent fault that turned out to be the item shown under the distributor cap. The engine would stop and would start again because the rocking of the engine when turned joined a broken cable, temporarily. Can you hear the fuel pump ticking all the time ? In other words, is it t...

As long as you use a well insulated cable losses are negligible, current rated above what you think is required.
