Re: Running problem

I have a 1300 engine in the car. Supposedly this has only done 5000 miles since a rebuild. Air filter is not standard. It is a petrol washable one that has been fitted. This is clean though. Changed the spark plugs and other electrics over the weekend other than the points. Have not changed these as...

Running problem

It feels as though my engine is struggling when I am doing above 40 (or possibly it is more noticeable when it is doing that speed or more). I can get the car to do 60 (eventually), but it does feel a struggle. Are there any obvious parts that I can check/replace to fix this. I am assuming it is ele...

cylinder type heater

Not too sure what the model number of this is, but has anyone ever tried to renovate one of these. The motor on mine seems to work by the rheostat, but there is little heat coming from the window vents.

inerior painting

Recently acquired a morris 1000. Body work is sound although paint work is shabby. I don't intend to get this into concors condition as I don't have the money to do this sort of thing. I do want the paint work tidied up though. Anyone got any tips on doing the bulkhead from inside the car and also t...

Re: vinyl card replacement

Hmm they do seem quite expensive, but probably better than I can do. Still going to have a go myself. Will try and get hold of the magazine. Do you know where you can get the vinyl itself from. I am not overly bothered if it is an exact match to what was originally on the car. In fact I suspect none...

vinyl card replacement

Where do you get the vinyl and foam from to replace worn and damaged material for the various panels in 2 door saloon. I was going to try and clean the existing ones, but they are not matched and there is some stuff on the vinyl that is a very stubborn stain. Also the hardboard is very warped and th...

Re: positive earth and radios

I have managed to locate a tag that you pull out and put into a different position to change the radio from positive to negative and vice versa. Now not getting any sound from the speakers. Does anyone know if you have to get different sort of speakers for old radios. I had bought a pair of cheap ne...

Re: positive earth and radios

Well the make is Sharp. I think the model is atr 933. Hopefull the picture has been attached ok. I have looked again in the guts of the thing and I cannot find anything that looks like a switch or plug that can be altered. This may not mean there is not one though. Its just that I cannot see it.[fra...

Sorry I should have been clearer on my question. It was more the radio that I was concerned with. How do I know if that is set up as negative or positive

positive earth and radios

Anyone help with a small problem I have with my morris. It's positive earth. I,ve recently bought a car radio that says it is both positive and negative earth, although someone has also scratched on it the word "negative". I can't see that there is a switch inside or out that makes it posi...
