Re: Outdoor car cover for a Traveller

Thanks for the information.

As the car lives in Macclesfield, with me of course, I don't think the sunshine will be a problem! So, if it'll cope with dull grey skies and rain, that'll do!

The local moggies tend to use the roof of my wife's Mazda MX5 soft-top as a hammock.

Outdoor car cover for a Traveller

Dear All, I'm planning on laying up my 1967 Traveller for the next ~ 4 months, but (sadly) I need to keep the vehicle outside. Has anyone got any recommendations for a suitable cover under which I can store the car ?? There is one very strange website that I've just been looking at where they recomm...

1098 engine crankshaft measurements

Dear All, The 1098 engine that is in my 1967 Traveller isn’t sounding very happy. It’s got a low down grumble / rattle that sounds ‘orribly like big ends or main bearings to me, and it’s getting worse. So, as I’ve got a spare 1098 engine in the back of the garage, ( … and who hasn’t?) I’ve set off t...

Re: Can't switch wipers OFF... help!

Mike, Thanks for the information. I've just followed your suggestion. Removing the green/black wire certainly has an effect. Just not the required one! Taking the green / black wire away just means that the wipers don't work at all. The effect is the same if you remove the green wire instead of the ...

Re: Can't switch wipers OFF... help!

The wiper motor was replaced by me about 3 months back. The old one just stopped with a wisp of white smoke coming from the motor. The wiper motor had been there since I purchased the car some ~10 years back and had given no problems in that time. The replacment was bought from Bull Motif. There are...

Re: Can switch wipers OFF... help!

Beero,

Thanks for the quick response!

I've tried the switch using an electrical circuit tester and it's OK. It operates OK on an ordinary bulb too.

Can't switch wipers OFF... help!

Dear All, I can't turn the wipers off on my 1967 Traveller ! Even though it rains a lot here in the darkest north, it's getting rather annoying....to say the least. As soon as I switch the ignition on with the key, the wipers twitch then reluctantly start to work. This is without the wiper switch be...
