I often wonder about the noise levels of music in cars. Perhaps its my age ,but If the thing is too loud ,I just can't concentrate on my driving.I do like rock music ,&with my son in a rock band ,I'm used to loud music at home ,&everywhere else , but not too loud in a vehicle.

Apparently there are two different size main bearings(1.75"/2.0") on 1098's the prefix on the tag would show this,or you 'd have to strip the engine to check .

I know it is frowned upon by the purists ,and 'real' mechanics ,but I use that Hermetite a lot ,it cleans off easily with petrol ,and a scraper ,and does the trick on rocker box covers !

Yeah That wire to ground is very fine and easily damaged .What about a plug breaking down(crack in porcelain getting damp/wet?)I find sometimes just fitting new set of plugs helps to run smoother ,even though the originals seem /look fine .

The way I see it is,the eng. had a guarantee (which ran out about 3 months ago) plus I have done stuff -new cam etc ,which I consider to put the guarantee void . I'm not too happy about paying out any money ,obviously, but I'll just put...

Oh ,now I see! I fitted the duplex to avoid noise ,stretching etc. but it appears to have worn quickly (ie if the ticking is actually this) I wondered whether it was mis-aligned ,therefore worn on the inner edge of the links causing it to move around sideways on the sprockets? When you listen with a ...
