magnet does stick so i'll clean off with thinners then give the thinnest coat of silver paint. thanks everybody.

no rust just loads of bits of different colour paints and stuff. but i have some special silver paint i think ill paint it with that.

oh, and another question. I have bought two new kick plates but they have black coating on them, can you just spray on top of that or do you need to sand that off first? thanks again. Janey

What's it made of?
afternoon all. can anybody tell me what the boot stay is made of, it is a latter one which you have to sort of press and slide to close the boot. mine is messy and id like to clean it up. but cant paint obviousy as it slides. is it alloy or steel? thanks.

lucar instead of bullets
evening everybody. i havnt been on for a while, but am now starting on my car again as the weather gets better. A while ago I was given advice about electrical conections, and bought lucar conectors instead of cheap nasty spade types. But I still have a problem with bullet conectors, it is expensive...

I dont really want an alternator as i have got three or four dynamos that all work fine, and normally having a dynamo hasnt been a problem.

not at the moment, but it is a Goodmans Model GCE-343 it has two seperate wires, a live power wire and a thin memory wire.

i bought a new old stock classic 80s radio casette for a little music, it's all fitted but was a little concerned about the fact one wire is constantly live, this is for the radio memory, but I only have a dynamo and so am i right to worry and think that this is quickly going to drain the battery? :...

No, its definitely coming in from the seal, but my seal is flat and cracked. at the moment it sits on point a, nestled against the inner ridge, it is a 1971 saloon. So still - no conclusive answer
Does it fit ON the ridge or by the side of it on the edge? Confusing...
