Hi.All This is a real poser question??.A 1956 morris minor fuel gauge is reading half full when the tank level fuel sender unit is set to empty whilst i am holding it.i have tested the fuel gauge by earthing the wire to the body and the petrol gauge goes to full and when i remove the earth it reads ...

Hi.I Have a 1956 minor that was running very rough.I purchased a S.U.overhaul kit from a web sight that specialises in s.u. carbs for about £45 aprox? and it ran love'ly once fitted and adjusted.if you search the internet i'm sure you will find it.i did in no time.sorry cannot be more helpfull.

Temperature Gauge

Hi All.I am fitting a temp gauge(new smiths electrical)and although i have read on the web how to fit one. the web sites appear to only cover the mechanical type(capillary).So my question is how do i fit an electrical temp gauge when there is no voltage stablizer on the rear of the speedo as i belie...

I Agree with the other comments.It's no good changing everything and hoping you've hit the spot.if the engine ran for a short time then it probably was'nt an ignition problem.so start looking at the fuel system.i.e.sticking needle valve in the float chamber e.t.c

Rear Door Window Replacement

Hi.All.Does anyone know how to replace the glass in the rear door(passenger).I have taken the glass out to fix the winder mechanism and replaced the window sealing strips but the glass will not feed in from the top(top channel removed)due to the width of the window winder runner.Cheers.

Hi.All just to say that i have sorted the warning light problem by fitting two lights on a bracket. it looks good. just below the dash.this was the only way i could do it.Many Thanks for all the reply's.

Rear Sring Hanger

Hi.I am just replacing the rear springs on my morris can anyone tell me what stops the shackle Pin (front of rear spring )from coming out of it's locating bracket when tightening the nut.(the bracket that bolts to the hanger)or should it stop when it has reached it's limit.Cheers.

Hi.The end repair sections of the crossmember appear to nearly reach the propshaft centre hole.

Hi.All Thanks for all the replys.the mot is not up untill September.but as i was under the car changing the clutch/gearbox i noticed that the crossmember was corroded just were the torsion bar is mounted to the crossmember. i am sure i can get away with just getting an end section fitted.

Hi.Marky B.The corroded area is at the bottom of the crossmember.just below the torsion bar mount.I have seen an end piece to fit this corroded area on Charles Wares web site.this may be an easier fix than replacing the whole crossmember.i assume the corroded area obviously has to be removed first.s...

Centre Crossmember

Hi.Has anyone had any experience of repairing or replacing the centre crossmember.i.e.cost and how big a job would it be if i took it to a body repairers.the crossmember has corrosion just below the passenger side torsion bar mounting.I think i have seen an end piece advertised that can be fitted!!....
