Rear window rubber seal

I'm not sure if this can be classified as body work, but here goes. I need to replace the outside rear driver's side rubber window seal on my 1957 two door saloon. I have never done this before, so before I order the replacement and start ripping the old one out could some one tell me if it is simpl...

No seat belts and the law (and children)

My 1957 Morris 1000 has no seatbelts fitted at all. My 3 children (6, 9 and 11 1/2 years old) love it and want to come with me everywhere. I have looked at a variety of websites (including an official government one)and I can't seem to get a clear answer as to which of them can travel with me in the...

Help to replace top part of hinge on bonnet

Hello One of the bolts that attaches the top half of the driver's side bonnet hinge (the bit attached to the bonnet and not the body) has sheared off and I would like to replace that part of the hinge. Can I leave the hinge in situ, remove the pin that holds the two parts of the hinge together (do t...

Re: Right colour for the right year?

Again - you are right. There are a couple of other body work bits that need doing, so I might get those priced up and see what I can do. I read something today which said that there are only 20000 Morris Minors on the road (down from 240000 in the mid 70s)! Don't want to hang around too long or they...

Re: Right colour for the right year?

You are right. Am quite tempted, but with a couple of reservations - in the photos, as you can see on the right hand side of the dash there are a couple of extra switches and buttons, which someone has obviously had to drill holes for. How easy would it be to take them out and put that right I wonder?

Re: Right colour for the right year?

Dear Louise and David Thank you for clearing this up. This was my first post and I am hugely impressed by the speed of your replies and the wealth of your knowledge. With any luck (having been Minorless for the last 20 years) I will be back behind the wheel in the next week or so. :D Thanks once aga...

Re: Right colour for the right year?

Just had one other thought. Perhaps the car is sage green rather than porcelain green (this would then fit the year). Anyone know if the two colours are fairly similar?

Thanks

Right colour for the right year?

Hello. I having been looking at a 1957 MM for sale and was wondering if the colour was "right" for its year. It is a 1957 948cc 2 door saloon. The colour (inside and out) is porcelain green. According to other sources, this colour did not come out until July 1960. Do you think someone has ...
