Re: Strange problem with our Traveller
It's a guess, I but sometimes the little voltage regulator (attached to the back of the speedo) goes rogue and send dodgy fuel gauge signals.

Traveller Project available in Kent
I've bought a few parts from a family clearing their late father's home. They have a 1972 Traveller project. Mostly stripped, decent wood and panels. It had been started but illness halted the work. The car needs moving as a project or parts. It's in Loose, near Maidstone. Call Lorraine on 07534 203...

Re: Pass Plus
By all means take Pass Plus, or IAM, as someone says above it's always good to raise your standard of driving, but... Understand Insurance: - It is a scam - Insurance follows the same rules as bookmaking, except the bookie can be relied on to pay you, the insurer will lie, and wriggle and cheat his ...

Re: Knackered carb
The issue turned out to be a delightful combination: - buggered coil, even after the RAC replaced it with a ballasted coil! - bad jet bearing (causing jet to stick in part-choke position) - running a 0.100" jet rather than a 0.090" jet (the clincher) - running an "M" needle in a ...

Hootless, one green flasher, and no interior lights
Where to start.... '65 saloon, new to me, quite nice but can be a bit erratic. The horn stopped working, the interior light doesn't work anymore, and the green stalk-end indicator warning works, sometimes, and when signalling right only. Are these issues likely to be a) linked and b) down to bad ear...

Re: choke lever is not staying put
Mine clicks as you pull it out and then you have to twist it a bit to unlock it to let it return. I think the locking bit is in the housing behind the choke button (you're not supposed to say "knob" in the MMOC messageboard) in the dash.

Re: Running Fast
Another possibility is that air has started to leak into the carb body from a worn throttle shaft, but this wouldn't normally start suddenly. I'm trying to work out why mine's doing the same since I stripped and serviced the carb. It has a new needle, jet, the choke and return are all fine, the thro...

Misbehaving carb
Is anyone still contributing on this topic?? Bought a 1098cc saloon but the jet was sticking and I found it had the M needle rather than the right AN needle, so... Just put a new jet and needle in, screwed it all together, slung it on the manifold and started it. The good news is that it started, th...
