Re: Moss Manchester (Cheadle, Stockport) Closed Down
Used them several times when over from Northern Ireland visiting family in Didsbury, have to say always found the staff to be brusk and not particularly helpful. When ringing several weeks before a trip over to order parts and then checking a week later to ensure the parts had arrived in stock befor...

Account removal notice
Just received an email this morning advising my account would be deleted as I had not responded to the activation email. Seems a bit random as I’ve not requested a activation email; anyone else’s had this email notification?

Reclining seats
Looking for some advice regarding reclining seats, years ago, 3-4 years BI (Before Internet) I believe I read somewhere about the reclining seats in a minor 1000 being based on the same recline mechanisms used by the Austin Maxi. Having scrapped a maxi 20+ yrs ago i kept the front seats complete wit...

Re: NEC classic car show
Going to price the ordinary classic car owner out of the show, I was there this year for the first time in about 10 years, very expensive weekend, and I’ll not be back again, £16 for parking extortionate, and the discount tickets were devalued once the £2 booking fee was applied. All very well payin...

Re: Not what it used to be?
I think the Christmas upgrade killed off the forum, photographs disappeared from existing posts, the new format is not user friendly for a smart phone or ipad, it's harder to navigate around the posts. An upgrade should improve things, not make them worse, yes we miss Roy's posts, it's never the coil!

I filled out the gap with some dum dum, but the use of silicone sealer seems a good idea too.

Re: Dipstick sleeve
Esm sell new ones if yours has lost the will to live. As they are plastic they perhaps become hardened with exposure to the heat in the engine bay. Get a new rubber washer for the dipstick too as will stop any rattles or leaks.

Re: Dipstick sleeve
They usually are just pushed into the engine block, and are a friction fit, small tap with a rubber faced mallet should secure it

Propshaft Problems
Hi, just checking out my propshaft before refitting to the car and noticed this at the gearbox end. From the photo there is a small metal disc at the spline end of the shaft that is coming away from inside the joint. The ends of the splines can just about be seen through the gap. Doesn't look right ...

Re: Fitting an alternator with an ammeter
Probably best to remove the ammeter as all the output from the alternator will pass through the instrument. 40-50 amps passing through the ammeter will overload the wiring and could cause a fire. Most ammeters are rated at 30 amps, way under the minimum output of the average alternator, Better to fi...

Re: Protecting the inner wings.
You can buy aluminium inner wing guards for the front wings from Lokari, these have been hand made in Germany since the 1960's
They have them listed on eBay. Search lokari morris Minor. Their website gives more information on the liners
Thinking of buying a pair for my convertible.

Re: Battery charger
I bought a ctek smart charger 10 yrs ago, been very pleased with it, couldn't tell you which model, and I'm sure there would be newer models out by now anyway. Basically I use it for keeping several car batteries charged during the winter etc. Simply connect each battery in turn for 2-3 days at a ti...
