Re: Running Fast
Well, I have found out the problem. It was the jet screw. One of my friend had a moggy many years ago and gave me a hand. I have learnt where the throttle cable attaches to the carb and how to adjust the jet screw. There was also another screw the same as the jet screw further round on the carb but ...

I meant that if the tree was covering up the lights should the Council be responsible and therefore compensate you? Long shot I know!!!

Your poor Moggie.
Good that you weren't hurt.
If the traffice lights were covered by the tree is that the Council's fault?

Re: indicator help
Personally, if you can go back to the originals and be legal I would do that.
On the subject (sort of), was the flash bulb on the indicator arm (on the steering column) amber or green?
George has an amber one but I have seen green ones for sale. Is it dependant on year?

Re: Complete Beginners!!
Hi M, I just need a visual reference to everything in the car, where it is and what it does. That is why I was hoping to find a book that shows me everything e.g. I have heard of trunions and the big end but I have no idea where or what they are or what they do! I am a complete beginner when it come...

Complete Beginners!!
Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to put this. I have been reading the restoration books, manuals etc for George and have realised that most of the time I have no idea what the author is talking about. They all seem to assume that the reader has a good knowledge of the car (this is not a criti...

Re: Running Fast
Ok, I got my son to sit in the car and pull the choke lever out and in. After he had pulled and pushed the lever a couple of times the idling speed went back to normal and the revs increased every time he pulled the choke out. Unfortunately, the manuals and restoration books assume that the reader h...

Running Fast
HI, Just been out in George and the engine seems to be running too fast. When I pulled the choke out it didn't seem to make any difference to the revs. Does this mean the mixture is running rich and the choke cable is not working? What should I be checking for? I will have to read my manuals and loo...

I took my list of spanners I found on this website and proceeded to search. Then I met my stepmother who said that she had 2 toolboxes full of my Dad's t...
