Re: Lifting an Engine off a Pallet
I move engines around on a sack barrow. Its quite easy to shuffle and engine onto one and then strap it to the sack barrow so it does not fall off.

Re: Under bonnet insulation pad
I put one on my old van years ago and I wouldn't bother again. It was a pain to get to stay on even using extra glue some areas would sag after time. On my new van I will just use the sound deadening bitumen squares.

Re: Advice on Morris upgrades
To my van I fitted an alternator, two speed wipers (With controls now on new stork), uprated mini heater, heated front screen (Not really needed) and a brake servo (Kept the drums). Now my wife doesn't mind driving it. The heater and wipers help a lot in the rain and the brake servo makes braking fe...

Re: hand painting
Depends on the finish you want, you can brush cellulose with a 10% thinner but you will have your work cut out for a good finish.

I think I may have found the problem, even thought the two sets of ends look different I think they are the same and I have been sent the same type twice!

Re: Non Standard Steering Rack
Well I don't have thread gauges so rules that out. Does anyone have ideas of what racks do fit, it looks like a normal morris minor one. The track rod ends do not have bleed nipples in which is why i thought they may be from a marina. To be honest it has been a pain since I first started to get it b...

Non Standard Steering Rack
I have a 1971 van and I am trying to get track rod ends but it seems to have a different steering rack. I have tried the mm early and late ends as well as the marina but they are all too small. Does anyone know what type of steering racks could have been fitted as an easy replacement?

You can use an arc welder for bodywork but you need to use decent rods and have plenty of practice. Also know ho to use body solder helps.
