I reset the tester after each cylinder.
Definitely didn't swap the leads round as the issues all started without having had the bonnet up.
I'll try to find out which cylinders are not firing.
Thanks for the relies

Hello all, Having some trouble with my pickup. Little background. Monday, car was running absolutely fine, no worries. Then tuesday, the car was running okay, but slower to rev and was stalling at junctions. Wednesday, running on two cylinders, throttle makes no difference apart from keeping it runn...

Went to the classic cars on the prom in Bournemouth earlier, massive turnout, weather was against us though.
There was a very interesting lowlight there...[frame]

Copper Heater pipe
Hi all,
Have just bought a heater to fit to my pickup but was wondering where to get the copper pipe which runs parallel to the cylinder head and then drops over the top of the water pump from?
Can't combine the right words on esm to get what i want.
Regards
Joe

Re: Pickup tidy up
Well came home from uni for a weekend of tinkering on the cars. Have just sprayed the internal grill for the pickup and attached the slatted part. Was a complete nightmare as nothing wanted to line up on re-assembly. The hockey sticks especially! Anyways, a few pics.. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6...

Re: Pickup restoration part three
David, Fantastic work, absolutely loving the project The recent work you have just completed is identical to what i need to do to mine. A question from a novice, don't judge :D, did you need to drain the oil before removing timing case cover plate? I have changed the gasket on my 803, but the engine...

Re: Pickup tidy up
Got it working, my error.
The throttle cable had been placed on too tight and so the carb was revving high. It was dropping out when cold which led to the inlet leak assumption
All fixed now though. Hopefully going to take her round the block tomorrow.

Re: Pickup tidy up
Final update, for a while atleast I have just put in my last stint in the garage before heading off to uni. She is, im glad to say, back in one piece. Initially I ground back the panel which sits behind the front grill, which the radiator attaches too. The engine side of this panel was painted with ...

Progress as of last night: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6152/6163288040_0644d51653.jpg Managed to put all of the engine back together, drilled the holes for the engine mount and brake t-piece and re-route and re-connect the wiring. Did attempt to start it but one of the wires feeding the coils dec...

Re: Pickup tidy up
Another little update, Have had the two areas of the engine bay welded and since i have painted it with red oxide and then the top coat. I masked off the engine and the exhaust but decided to not strictly mask the bay floor since i preferred the paint to get right into the corners and properly seal ...

Re: Pickup tidy up
Quite a lot of progress has been made since the last update. Starting with the painting of the radiator. Hammerite is good stuff, though difficult to achieve a good finish with. I tend to apply it quite thickly and it seems to prevent the brush marks from being too prominent. Also cleaned up the rad...

Re: Pickup tidy up
Hi all again, Little update, I have been tackling the little things in the garage. It always seems that the little jobs take the most time. I’ve just fully degreased the engine bay, and although the paintwork is rather unpleasant it looks much better just for removing the 15 years of crud and oil. S...

My task, over the next *cough* two weeks *cough* (before i head off to uni) is to overhaul the front end of the pickup a...

Re: Impossible to fill! (Suspect fuel gauge)
Aren't the tanks 5 gallon?
Mine only costs 30 pounds to fill up
When i first started using the car i noticed that the gauge would never read full, i too thought it was the sender but replaced the gauge and now reads fine
