Thanks for the reply, the irony is I was looking at a coil bracket earlier (as in physically, in my hands - when hunting out my spare Minor SU pump to see what the bracket was like) but while it was similar it didn't have a threaded hole and the mounting holes for the bracket itself weren't as long.

Is there any reason why you don't do the front to back straps as well on the base mowogg?

I also started using the old metal clips etc. with new webbing as the new stuff is stitched not clipped, and it means it looks original.

Could it be May-94 as in the date of manufacture?

You might find some of the old base webbing is still usable enough for the backs, and because they've been stretched through body weight they're easily put on. All depends on how crunchy the old webbing is.
