Many thanks, nice to know the DVLA have got that bit right.
The issue of a Q number wrangles.
While it does I'll persist in my efforts to get an age related plate.
Thanks again.

Co2 emissions g/km 1098cc engine
Hi Can anyone help with A series engine Co2 emissions? To cut a 4 year story down to a sentence. :-( The DVLA have judged my Convertible as void. I have to get it re-registered. It falls under the 'Rebuild' category and will be plated with a "Q" plate which is non-transferable. Its class i...

Hi Bowie69
Thank you for the observation.
I will look more assiduously for that 25 year exception, it certainly makes sense to me.

IVA Certificates - Post production Convertibles
Good morning, With thanks to Simon Mitchell for his help recently but I wonder if you guys out there have any experience of dealing with the DVLA and DCSA when the DVLA void the car you've purchased? I've been struggling to resolve the mis-match between the VIN plate on the car and the VIN number, s...

Re: Rear axel - corrosion - mounting pads
Hi, Many thanks for the comments and suggestions. Thanks Phil..I'd spotted the mounting pads on ESM too and breathed a sign of relief. Fabricating my own would have been a bind. Does anyone know where I can find the angle they are set at when using the differential gasket face as a datum? I guess I ...

Re: Rear axel - corrosion - mounting pads
Ouch! I did wonder the same but....while I didn't pay much it was more than a little.
As you'll have seen it isn't all cleaned up yet, if it get worse, as indeed it might, your option might have to be followed...ouch again!
Hey ho..a lesson about unseen eBay items perhaps.

Rear axel - corrosion - mounting pads
Hi, Recently purchased an eBay 2nd hand rear (back) axel casing. When it arrived it looked in an okay'ish condition and much as the seller described. I wasn't paying enough for it to look either clean or shiny. A friend, Richard, urged a little caution as 'casing are notorious for corrosion at the s...

Fuel starvation- any ideas
Hi Had a problem bring my 'new' convertible home in July, ran for twenty mile and then my wife and I towed the car the next 60 miles home. Inspection indicated the fuel line was full of kinks, new fuel line fitted. Inspection indicated the fuel pump wasn't right so exchanged for a known good one. In...

Re: Fuel tank outlet leaking
Hi Tom, has the fuel line been disturbed recently? Could it be that the pipe inside the tank is misaligned and the fuel line is not seated correctly. I've recently had the petrol tank off mine to flush it out. In the course of many flushes I became puzzled by a rattle. I had inspected the outlet uni...

Re: Diagram of fuel pipe run
Hi David, Many thanks all beautifully clear.
The one I'm taking out ran through the gearbox cross member.
You've reminded me it has to be able to come out!!
Dam! I'll need to remove the floor, it'll be all too tight otherwise.
Hey ho...it's the "fun" that comes with old cars isn't it ??!?!!?

Diagram of fuel pipe run
Hi, Does anyone have a diagram (ideally with dimensions) of the fuel pipe run from the tank to the pump? I'm having to renew the fuel pipe as the one on the car has been rather "butchered". I thought there ought to be a couple of single coils at 90 degrees to each other as the pipe exits t...

Many thanks for the comment and advice.
As I get to know the car it seems to be an interesting collection of components.

Body plate identification
Hi Folks
Can you point me in the right direction? Can the club identify a car from its body plate ID?
My car has a body plate with M/A2S3 857*** stamped on it.
I've been advised the car is a converted 2 door saloon, is this right?
Many thanks
Peter

Hi...somewhat new to Morris Minor body work restoration I'm trying to assess what I'm letting myself in for. I've had "Millie" as my regular transport for 6 years, doing around 5k miles a year, cracking car goes like a top..especially now the re-built engine isn't running in the "bad ...
