Re: Clutch shaft advice please..!
Hmmmm..........I probably would have done as suggested had I known , when I started, that the shaft would prove such a pain...but in fact the brake pedal and spacer were loose on the shaft so I didn't foresee too much trouble.I think the ridges on the shaft were the problem in my case........all goo...

Re: Which welder?
Hi Get the most professional and powerful you can afford.....hobby ones and especially gasless ones are to be avoided in my humble opinion (mig welding for 35 years now ).If you can run to a decent AC/DC Tig you'll be even better off,but you'll have to pay over budget.Avoid apparently cheap Chinese ...

Hi........... I'm attempting to replace the clutch/brake pedal shaft on my Woodie...I've removed nut and washer near the torsion bar,and despite both pedals and spacers spinning on the shaft......said shaft will not drift out through the chassis ! Don't worry...................every possible piece that could be saved has gone into storage....or onto my other woody.... The car was as rotten as anything I've seen in in 40 years of tinkering....patches over patches over rust over nothing. 90% of it will live on...........

Hi...............First as suggested service all the consumables. If it's difficult to start because it turns over slowly.......... A common problem is the engine earth lead.......sometimes they look O.K but have a kind of furry covering and are not conducting properly.Replace with a new one(They're ...

Re: Weber carbs - how much should I pay?
There are a number of different Webers..............if it's a downdraught type complete with manifold or adapter plate,it might work as there were a number of kits available to replace rubbish carbs from other manufacturers..the seventies Ford carb in particular which had the jets drilled straight i...

Cornish Splitscreen Van Calling!
hI............I'm a recent recruit to the Moggy family(I've been a 60's Cooper man for years) but since I'm now the custodian of a 1953 Splitscreen Van,Ithought I'd see if there are any likeminded souls down here in good old Cornwall. The thing that's worrying me most at the moment is the seemingly e...
