Re: Past history.

I seem to remember that it occured shortly before I was a moderator (but that was a long time ago now) - I think (and this may well be wrong) that it was down to him using the forum as a place to advertise his wares? (may be totally wrong!)

Re: How to Getting a morris 1000 door to fit perfectly?

Door Bolts need a 1/4 Whit socket/spanner.

Adding to the above, BSW & BSF use the same size heads, but because BSF is a fine thread, the head is smaller. e.g. 1/4 BSW & 5/16BSF both use the same spanner/sockets

Re: 1924 Morris Commercial T Type

I've commented on this on the Morris Commercial Facebook ;)

'24 is the first year of Morris Commercials and they have a few features which were dropped pretty quickly (wheel stud size increased for example).

I've been doing a lot to my 1928 LT Van over the winter :)

Re: Rear Hubs minor damage. Important?

For general info If you put an oil seal on a flat surface, you can either fill the back of it with oil, or dribble it all over the top.... i.e. its got a "cup" that "cup" should always face towards the oil. Another way to think about it, is if you were to pressurise behind it, it...

Re: Auctions....

For anyone interested.... Its up and running and moving under its own power (although not road legal yet). I was able to move it around on the driveway on Sunday morning. A number of small, but crucial, parts went missing from the box of bits (e.g. pins for the clutch, bespoke nuts and washer for th...

Auctions....

I have tried to buy numerous classic cars at proper auctions in the past... but never managed to do so. They have always gone for a massively inflated price. But I have just broken that duck and bought a Morris Oxford (sorry not a minor - I still have 3) for £2574 (inc commission etc) :o The same ca...

Re: Interesting change to counter Ghost MOT...

Photographing on test does nothing.

How many white transits are there out in the wild? And how difficult is it to fit different number plates for a photo? Afterall you only need to do it once and re-use it every year

I can just about manage the passenger side on one of my moderns.... but the drivers side needs the bumper removing and the headlight taking off.

Re: Bluecol antifreeze

I ended up spending hours and hours trying to find something suitable for my early vehicles last year, talking to manufactures (not the resellers!)

I ended up getting and using this https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-77238-mill ... tid=111808

Re: Replacement clutch

Not quite the same - but I put a B&B clutch in my sprite about 5 years ago. In less than 1000 miles the carbon thrust bearing had worn out. Was not impressed.

Clutch itself seems fine

You could wire the clock (with a fuse) to the non cut off side of the battery as an alternative option?

Re: 2025 National Rally

A lot has changed in that time...

But I still have my first minor (aka freemog), the convertable and a pickup. All in various states of disrepair.

Current Morris non Minor is a bit older though

Re: The other forum

What's the idea of another forum as well as faceache isn't this just diluting the chat and info over several platforms? Basically it was set up many years ago when a small group of people got fed up with the moderation rules of the forum set by the MMOC committee. They moaned at admin and moderator...

so if it's built anytime in 2021(or the first week of 2022) it's free on the 1st April 2022, this is defined as 40 years since it was built Either I'm more tired than I realise and keep misreading your sentence or... As an aside my Minor was registered 1st Jan '64, so either it's really a '63...
