Are you referring to a 948cc Minor 1000 with one piece windscreen, or the earlier cars? Have a look at the air filter. Has the intake silencer tube either come loose or fallen off completely? They tend to crack around the joint, and then you get a throaty roar under acceleration.

I'd be happy wit those. I would repeat number 2 to see if it gets any closer to the others. As those were dry readings, it would be interesting to add a little oil and repeat all readings to see if there's any significant difference; and check valve clearances on number 2; but nothing of concern.
