Re: Roof lining help
Before pulling the wires out, attach some string to the end of the wire so yo can reattach the string to the new wire when refitting the headlining. The wire can be pulled through the front pillars and reattached via the screws.

I made this lifting bar at work. I have used it on many minor motors with and without the gearbox.

it makes me laugh out loud. I can break every speed limit in the land. How many times has a more powerful motor rushed past me only to be waiting at the next set of lights.

Re: MOT & how else would you prove roadworthy…..
I did read, some years ago of a tester, unfamiliar with older cars, who broke an indicator stalk (Minor) trying to full beam/dip the headlights, unaware it was foot operated. I remember years ago ( about 35?) I took my Traveller to Half-fords for an MOT. They failed it on the suspension. The...

Re: MOT & how else would you prove roadworthy…..
When I lived in France classic cars were tested every five years. As me and my Moggie are both retired I recon that an MOT every five years is enough. I had to have a valid MOT to reregister the car in the UK which she passed. That was two years ago and I have only done a few hundred miles since the...

Re: SPQR Click Adjuster.
On the contrary. It works well with worn and recessed rocker arms. First it is torqued down eliminating any wear in the rockers. It is then backed of by the correct number of clicks (I set my tappets to 8 clicks, inlet and exhaust) to set the correct gap. Twist the locking arm and you ate done. It i...

The best thing I ever got was an SPQR tappet adjuster. It has saved me no end of time and frustration.

Re: VIN NUMBER for an import convertible
Thanks for the clarification. Would I be right in assuming you just want the number on the V5 to match the Heritage number that is the same as on your car. If so give DVLA an email to ask if you can correct the number as it is incorrect. I am sure they would help. They may ask for proof but you have...

Re: VIN NUMBER for an import convertible
I am not sure what you are trying to achieve. I would think that if the V5 matches what you have then what do you need to change. I had to reregister my traveller after spending 10 years in France. Even though it was straight forward the DVLA asked for stupid information that seemed to have no reaso...

Re: Fitting an Apple iPhone charger?
I found a piece of aluminium on the road and used it to make a simple bracket. It is only attached to the parcel shelf with double sided tape. One USB if for the dash-cam and the other goes to a phone holder. Using WAZE is brilliant as the speedometer in the app is more accurate than the cars. ( the...

Regardless of polarity I used a BOAT USB charger. The body is plastic so it needs a seperate earth. This can be swapped around to suit the car.

I have Ford based disks without a servo. Never felt the need to have one. I believe them to be another level of unnecessary complication. I expect others will disagree.

You can get stainless steel sill finishers that look very smart and wont rust. They are bolted on.
