Re: Ignition switch will not turn engine over

Yes the solenoid is fine :) It's just when I try to turn the engine over via using the ignition key it's as if the ignition switch on the dashboard is locked tight, I theorized that it was seized but I tried today and it's no different, could it be jammed? Thank you for the help everyone I really ap...

Re: Ignition switch will not turn engine over

The battery is charged (I charged it yesterday) and the engine turns over via the red button on top of the solenoid and I haven't checked the connection yet.

Ignition switch will not turn engine over

Hello, Recently my battery was flat and I tried turning the engine over with the ignition switch (on the dashboard) and after a few attempts it's seem to have 'locked', preventing me from turning the engine over. I can turn the ignition on with the key but not the engine over, and the only alternati...

Insurance Help Please

Hello :-), On the 16th April I successfully passed my driving test (first time on both parts), and at the end of the month my dad sorted the insurance out so that I was a full driver rather than a provisional driver, and the change meant that I could drive for a month. My insurance is valid until th...

Re: Learner Plates

Ok thank you, I have tried putting the front plate on the bonnet where it curves from the centre but it's not very visible, I remember reading in an issue quite a while ago that a driving school in Somerset have a custom built Morris Minor 1000 with the front plate on in the way I tried, here's a li...

Learner Plates

Hello,

I've seen a few Morris Minors with Learner plates on the front, where can I get them? I have the normal magnetic plates but the front one doesn't really fit anywhere, is there a certain attachment I can fit to get the front Learner Plate?

Re: Increase of mileage?

Yes, now that you mention it I ought to keep the tyre pressures as they should be :-).

Thank you everybody, I'll just leave the car as it is :-).

Re: Increase of mileage?

Hm, I might just stick with the standard tank due to the weight of the petrol at full tank (Let's face it, a horse wouldn't go far with a cart full of carrots, would it?) and the fact that I'd rather save space. Also, I haven't got round to giving the Moggie a quick service but I'll pump up the tyre...

Re: Washer Pump Issues

Would it be worth taking the piping out and putting it in a bucket of water to see any air bubbles come out - and if so, buy new piping? Or is it more likely a blockage from the hard water?

Re: Washer Pump Issues

The pipes can get blocked with algae type stuff. I'd take the off at the pump and blow down it, having removed the one way valve in the water reservoir if there is one. You could use a bicycle pump or an air duster if you aren't keen to use your lips. The use of proper screen wash reduces the probl...

Re: Rhythmic Noise

Just became aware of a new noise. When driving there is a faint but steady rhythmic sound, best way I can describe is a kind of "wup-wup-wup-wup". It sounds a little like a worn wheel bearing not as deep. When you slip out of gear and coast the noise stops. Most evident when accelerating ...

Washer Pump Issues

Hello :-), Recently I have been having issues with my Morris Minor's washer pump due to the fact that the pump will not pump out any water. I tried using a needle to unblock the nozzles, but that didn't help, and I even took the Speedometer out and checked the pipes, and it seems that the pipe is bl...
