Thanks all for the info . l will change the pipes and see what if anything happens. ps ....l do have one pipe that goes from the carb to the distributor,also another thats blanked off,so l will reconnect that to the rocker cover and as suggested leave the air filter connection off. l have wired the radio in it llights up ok but when i connect the earth wire it blows a fuse any idea's please.The car is negative earth

Hello All " Sorted " l have managed to sort out the problem, when l stripped the stay down and looked at it l found that the stay Bar was slightly bent and the pin that holds the spring was also bent.These were both straightened. Interestingly there was a new spring in this section. My nex...

the problem is that the door stay does not keeep the door open,l have fitted replacement hinge repair kits,because they were worn, but its the stay Bar pin that i assume has a spring to hold it down,this does not seem strong enough to hold the door open.

l think it may be the brushes because it sounds like the motor is labouring.Only when it first starts up,l have tried switching it off and on it still does the same.
Could it be a bearing,if so what is the best metheod repair/renew??
