Re: Oil thrower, which way round please?

Thank you very much for your reply can continue with the rebuild now.

By the marks around the rear I think chisel or tyre levers have been used in the past to remove it, with some force!

Oil thrower, which way round please?

Information I have:- Workshop manual says concave side forward (AA.23) though this also mentions the felt washer so is the older engine. Haines manual page 27 diagram shows concave side facing forward away from engine. Haines manual page 40 picture caption says concave side facing back toward engine...

Re: Traveller internal roof linning

Hi All
Headlining removed, could not get it to pop out with the knife, but drilled two holes that will be hidden under the sun visor mountings, as suggested on a previous thread.
Thanks

Traveller internal roof linning

Hi All I’m removing the Traveller internal roof lining, it has been straightforward until I came to a thin piece of ply that is behind the lining and pushed down behind the piece of bodywork that the sun visors and mirror are attached to over the windscreen. I have removed the sun visors and mirror ...

Re: Traveller Wing Beading

Hi
Now beading has arrived I can see a staple gun is easier than a hammer and nails, unless of course you have three hands
I will put some sealer in and be careful of my paintwork
Thanks for all your advice

Traveller Wing Beading

Hi All
Another question, I have ordered Traveller Wing Beading and was wondering if I should be using any sort of sealant between the wood and beading and the wing and beading when fitting, if so, any recommendations?
Thanks

Re: Colour of Traveller registered May1959

Hi Lou and Keith It is difficult to decide on the correct colour without looking at two vehicles taken in the same light conditions, but looking at the picture on the home page the dash looks darker than mine. Being very cunning I asked my wife which colour she thought it was, as in the past she has...

Re: Colour of Traveller registered May1959

Hi Alan ASL642 is correct, the Potteries Branch website has the colours of body, trim, carpets etc for most, if not all years (no carpets in mine, just rust) My seats are Blue grey so only choice is Smoke grey or Clipper blue, thanks to ASL647 I know it is not clipper blue, and he sent me on a PM de...

Colour of Traveller registered May1959

Hi All My Traveller registered May1959 has had all the welding completed and I would like to paint it in the original colour. At some time it has been badly brush painted in a pale blue colour, After reading all I can find on the subject, it appears that from Feb 1959 to July 1960 there where 6 colo...

Re: Piston rings, word of warning

I'm sure it would have been obvious if I had not checked and then snapped the first one I tried to put on the piston, not really knowing how much force to use, I actually found the correct size fairly tight to put on. It has been nearly 40 years since I last handled piston rings, now after this lear...

Piston rings, word of warning

I have been using this site to glean lots of info, including piston ring gapping as I’m rebuilding an engine (the first time since a bike engine in the early 70’s). Some say no need to check the gap, others you should gap them, I decided to check, I’m extremely lucky I did, I received my 1098cc pist...

Re: Welding a Traveller

Thanks for both your advice. I have already taken the doors off and noticed the door post had rotted off at the bottom. I can see that I will need the door back on to correctly position the post. The chap who is doing the welding is starting this Saturday, he has worked on Morris's in the past and m...

Re: Diagram for 1959 traveller

OK, thanks for the info Mike
My workshop manual is AKD 530B, no date, I have downloaded the extra pages from a more recent issue on the internet.
I have several sections of wiring loom from a friend of a friends scrap yard and using the correct colours will make up my own wiring loom.
Thanks again

Re: Diagram for 1959 traveller

Thanks for the reply My Morris workshop manual in the N’s only goes to section N.44 on page N.38. I suppose this might be an earlier addition and more pages were added later? So I have N30, (N31=LHD) and N36 (N.36 being my last wiring diagram) But not N.38 or N.44 The Traveller has orange indicators...

Diagram for 1959 traveller

I have recently bought a1959 Traveller that needs the wiring sorting, It has trafficators that do not work but has extra wires added to the loom i.e. they run outside the braiding to the separate pilot light that has a bulb in with two filaments. Also there is an extra indicator stalk wired in, just...

Welding a Traveller

First, thanks for all the information I have gleaned from this site due to all of you experts. I have recently bought a1959 Traveller that needs a great deal of welding, much more than I thought when I first bought it, under both front wings, all of the nearside sill and floor is totally rusted away...
