Re: MOT Exemption

With reference to Mike Perry's quote £55 for MoT's in Scotland. The price of an MoT is standardised across uk by VOSA so if your in Lands End or Unst in Shetland you pay the same price, except in Northern Ireland where there tests are carried out under a different body. The differing costs of MoT's ...

Re: coolant temp + oil gauge.

You could also try Demon Tweeks Wrexham www.demon-tweeks.co.uk i've found them very good for other projects i've been involved with. Also you could try JJC Race and Rally they have an e bay shop and prices are very reasonable. I've just spent £25 for a T I M temp gauge for my series II with them.

No gaskit on mine either as mike says just a plate on each side, if i were you i fit the cable between the gaskit and plate, so the gaskit is behind the cable.

Re: speedo readings with a 3.9 diff??

Sat nav's are very inacurate as the us military found out when developing the GPS system they didn't include a clock in the programing so all the GPS satalites they put were inacurate a plotting a location by 380,000ft. Thays why a sat nav uses a minimum of 3 satalites the speed shown on the sat nav...

Don't waste another two door, we've butchered to many for our desire for convertibles. if you've got a two door and want a convertible, have the best of both fit a westabo sun top.

Re: speedo readings with a 3.9 diff??

Mike Perry, i stand to correct you. A vehicle of 7.5 tons and above traveling on a duel carraiage way with no central dividing barrier is restricted to 40MPH, even if the signage says 50 MPH. Only when there is a central dividing barrier and the limit of 50MPH is signed can it then apply to vehicles...

Don't think it would have been factory fitted, more lickely would have been fitted by a specialist coach builder instead, but i do stand to be corrected if i'm wrong, would suggest you research coach builders that BMC used for specialist conversions, i know of two travelers that have been coach buil...

Re: Waterproof primer?

I'd use an epoxy primer myself, it can be flated back to prime and paint when ready, and it seals the body and panels from atmospheric conditions.

Re: Radial Tyres - Help

Modern tyres by desgin are tubless anyway, tubing a modern tyre is not recomended mainly due to modern construction of tyres and wheels, which are designed to be tubeless, and repaired without tubes. The older riveted and split rims should be tubed as should cross plys, as the tube gives support for...

Oops Possible cause is the ball joint on the end of steering rack breaking resulting in loss of steering, vibration you felt could have been just before the break, or it could have been the botton trunion collapsing again resulting in loss of steering. the car rolling on it's side was probably cause...

bmcecosse, I agree the K series is hopeless, i've heard the ford zetec conversion is getting very popular as will be the early duratec's used in the first focus's, if your looking for a diesel, i know two vans that have been fitted with the 3.0 ltr turbo diesel from izusu, i'm pretty sure it's the e...

As there is change happening next year in relation to continuous insurance/sorn, if the vehicle is not insuredand is not declared sorn the dvla enforcement teams can seize the vehicle even if it's in boxes and bits on your garage floor. bets to get sorn at the correct address.

As bmcecosse said stick your head out the window, i wouldn't recommend it 2 reasons not that many after market suppliers anymore as most moderns come with a sunroof, and you've got to think of the four way curve in the roof would you get a good seal without distorting the roof panel, leaky leaky i t...
