To remove the hockey stick, I like to remove the headlamp bowl,( if it will come off easily).
It allows great access to the nuts, especially the top one.
Much easier than working from the underneath of the wing.

And of course, the set is probably for sale, used on one of those auction sites for much less than the retail price.

This right Stephen. The nuts do make contact with the torsion bar, if they are fitted the wrong way around. The bolt heads have a reduced thickness to clear the torsion bar.

Just the best way of doing the job geoberni, without taking the torsion bar off.
I am sure they can be hired or borroed.

On head nuts It would be a good idea to somehow cover the top of the head.

A bigger problem on the nuts under the rocker cover.

It's all just nonsense. As much is I like originality, its a fuel tank. If the tank has rust holes it means that the whole tank is rusty.
