Hello, Spotted a slight oil leak from the cylinder head on 1098 engine. More a seep than a leak really. Torqued it snapped a stud. New stud new gasket and all torqued down @40 as per haynes. I know I need to redo after but to what torque and should it be done while engines is still hot? Also I will ...

Just as you suggest. Seems I didn't give the exhaust clamp a final tighten when I set up the exhaust.

Doing it from start up so nothing could be that hot.

Hi guys Pick up has started with the occasional backfire, Seems to be happening when going downhill with foot off the gas. A little throttle seems to stop it happening (is this the answer?) I wonder can it matter much to the dvla what the back body is?
Certain that modern vans/flatbeds/campervans roll of the same line as cab and chassis.



I am still trying and trying to convince the dvla that the my vin does include a U for pick up as the computer says no....

Hi Guys,

the light on the end of stalk flashes as it should but when indicators off it stays on. Seems to get quite hot. Is this the norm?
(checked the flasher unit and is wired up correctly)

I used the 14" Minor center and a 14" Ford Rostyle rim (these had the center rivited on so came apart quite easily) that was 6" wide. This is something like I did although it was only to take out the centre and reverse them to change ofset. I was more than happy with them but as prev...

Done something similarly dodgy to change the offset.

We got it balanced in the end but never seen so many weights.

Would be slightly worried about it coming apart on the road.

Never heard of a 98 degree stat! Highest I know of is 92.

thats probably what it was then.. its been a long build.

For now I just wanted to be happy that it wasn't going to overheat on its current short runs.intend to put a gauge in before the weather warms to much.

Heater seems ok for its size. Water pipes not to hot to hold (again subjective). Try it for 30 mins driving around town, not on open roads. Will do. The pick up is to used for work but most of my journeys would be no more than 30 mins with time to cool inbetween. Doesn't sound like I need to worry t...

OK see what you mean. Thermostat was checked before it went in. Heat to finger threshold medium to high.

Off the top of my head it was a 98 degree stat. Rad temp can't be much more than that.

Not likely to be overheating then??

Silicone is a no no. It gives of acetic acid (vinegar smell) that will eat into your paint work.

If you are going to do it get something automotive rather than household.
