Hi,
Thanks for the replies,Ihave spoken to Chris yet,but have dealt with him for many years and without doubt rectify the problem.I needed to know that this was aproblem before speaking to him.Crak was reground and block rebored.I will speak to him tommorow and no doubt he will sort it.

They send the crank and block away then rebuild it themselves,they say it is ok but i have nothing to compare it with to argue my point.

The engine was rebuilt,new oil pump,pistons and rings,all bearings,crank reground and unleaded head fitted,it was done by Tom Roy.

Could anyone tell me the best way to start my engine,if I turn it over without the choke it takes a while for the oil light to go out and starts without a rattle,if I start it it straight up with the choke the rattle is evident for a second then goes straight off as soon as the oil light goes out.En...

Fitting new exhaust.

Hi,
Just come to fit new one piece exhaust but found that it is either to close to the heat shield or to close to the chassis leg/torsion bar.Can anybody give me any hints as to what I am doing wrong.

Bottom hose

Hi,
Have just getting back after a run,no problems but come to check under the bonnet and found that bottom hose was cold.The heaters work and is not overheating system has been bledas the top hose is hot could this be a fault with water pump.
Any ideas.

Hi, I have come move dist drive as vaccum advance was to far round pointing at 3 0clock instead of around 1 oclock.took dist out screwed bolt into drive pulled it out (but to far) now cant get car to run correct, I have set timming marks and number one piston to tdc inserted drive to what i thought ...

Hi
Can anyone advise if the amount of oil required in box is 2.25 pints,and if this is so is it critical or can you slightly overfill without causing damage.

Cheers for image David,mine are now fittedthe same way butrelay shaft still out of aline also my tailshaft oil seal appears to have a bit more showing than yours only by about 5mm.it seams as if engine needs to go foward but if i do this the prop is to far out.Help please.

cheers have tried this but lay shaft stilloff set with leg by approx 5mm will this be ok,engine is as far forward as poss.

I had same problem with mine it was the pipe all I done was to super glue the pipe and elbow no more leak.

Dont know how far it should move but if you suck on the end of pipe and then keep your tounge on the end of pipe the plate should not move back if it does the problem could be either the seal on the pipe or the diaphram itself.hope this helps.

New rubber mounts,but have taken brackets of old box,which way round do they go any pictures would be great.

gearbox mounts

Hi,
Can anyone help,I have just replaced my gearbox but on refitting new one swapped mounts over not taking note of which way they came off.have refitted box and now the relay shaft is lying at a angle.
