Last resort try cellulose thinners on a rag. It has worked for me,

I dissected several short lived ones and found badly burnt contacts. Probably due to insufficient clearance when opening. Fitted a relay in the circuit to lower the switch current from 3 A to a few hundred milliamps. Seems OK now.
