Re: National Rally photos

Some lovely photos of modified and customised morris minors. Shame their is not a single picture of an unmolested morris minor - but that is because such a thing does not exist! - Today's minors mostly have radial tyres (which they were not designed for so the handling experience is completely chang...

Re: VW weekend

As for the Punch & Judy show, whilst not to everyone's taste it attracted large numbers of both adults and children during each showing at last year's rally so quite a lot of members seem to like it! Its funny but an ambulance and police around an accident seem to attract large numbers of peopl...

If it has been sorted out - Great. But we don't know unless you tell us. The last info was we were waiting on the outcome of the meeting being reported back. I can only assume that the meeting has been held and the outcome was that all attending were satisfied. I am glad that it appears to be sorted...

Re: custom register

Jules, I thoroughly appreciate your efforts and commitment stepping up and volunteering for the post. I know it can be a thankless task as I have held similair positions within my sailing interests. It appears that there is a BIG communication problem within the MMOC as I personally left a message b...

Re: custom register

I could point out that the moaning and criticising is a two way thing here, but instead I will suggest a couple of things that could improve the situation and should be suggested higher up the chain to those in power to make decisions (even if those decisions do take in excess of a year to follow th...

Re: custom register

Then maybe someone should pick up the PHONE and ring the chap!! or have people forgotten how this is done! Exactly! Members don't need 'permission' from the committee to do this, they just need to be a bit proactive themselves. His number is published in the club directory of Registers so there's n...

Re: Impossible - torque steer on rear wheel drive!

It might be the light reflecting on the picture, but... the spring hangar with the exhasut in the pic (last pic) dosnt look right, it looks as though it is coming adrift from the car floor. The other thing to check is all the rubbers in the suspension and make sure your brakes are not sticking on (t...

Re: Cleaning the Inside of the Engine Bay

I use a mix of white spirit, petrol and oil to remove the really caked on grime. The oil ensures that it leaves a protective layer to prevent the bare metal components from rusting. I brush it on with an old paintbrush and wipe it off with a dry cloth. The other alternative is stuff called "Gun...

Re: On offer at B&Q

I wonder if it is a CE mark or if it is the Japanese / Chinese mark that is slightly different! they get around the trademark / copyright issues because their "CE" mark has slightly different spacing and a small difference in the lettering. If it is theJapanese / Chinese mark then it is my...

keep the pics coming :D
As for fuel consumption, work on petrol being £6 a gallon!
I reckon that's 36 mpg xpress, I suspect it would be better if calculated for a longer distance - maybe if you didn't live so close you would have saved more :o

Re: who went to brooklands?

40 mpg - There are times I wish I had a tuned 1275 instead of the twin cam! My fuel consumption was more like 25 mpg maybe 30mpg at best, although I do have a heavy foot!

Re: who went to brooklands?

I went too :D Met Chris - and agree it was very disappointing not being allowed to go up Test Hill. I don't think you would of embarrassed yourself Chris - its a lovely looking 4dr you've got (and misses  ). The wheels look brilliant and the stance is fantastic. Had a great day, unfortunately ...

Re: slammed morris minor, give me your thoughts

You need to look at this website:
http://morrisminorowners.co.uk/index.php
and look at some of the long term projects. 8)
However low is not so great nowadays due to the amount of speed bumps and the state of the roads unless you go for hydraulic suspension.

Re: insurance

RH are good for older people, not sure about the under 30's. I use them for my twincam pick-up. Miles cheaper than FJ, although I never had any problems with FJ. I would always go fully comp. My father had an accident when he was a youngster in a frogeye sprite - rolled it and spent some time in hos...
