Re: Hello Again

I find I am doing less and less miles in cars these days (got a 2 wheeled thing with an engine for the commute now) so Aggy will soon become my "main" (and possibly only) car

Re: Hello Again

I've decided that Agatha is definately staying, I've been through some dark times where sale seemed to be the sensible way forwards but I doubt I'd ever find another car as good as her again....

Re: HELP BUYING MY FIRST CAR TIGHT BUDGET

There are bargains out there and generally the autumn/winter is the time to look for classics as the market the market is depressed. As others have said, if you do get one get the best you can possibly afford, spend the full whack on something that doesn't need work rather than budgeting fix-it up m...

Hello Again

Wow, its been a while hasn't it? I'm guessing a few of you will have no idea who I am, not even the first clue but for those of you who do remember me I'm coming back and planning to hang about here for a while. I still have Agatha, the 1968 2 door that I bought in late 2009 and she has been on and ...

Re: Car not starting with ignition on.

Fixed. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but Matt and his Friend Emma came and looked over the car and 1.5hrs later she seems to be OK. From what I understand it was mainly dodgy & corroded connections and we had some fun when we managed to short everything out by earthing the fag lighter (wh...

Re: Car not starting with ignition on.

Well, the ignition is now turning on and off on the key, and the cars starting. BUT nothing electrical on the ignition side is working, no lights, fuel guage etc

I'm tempted to try and re-wire the whole damned car, but knowing my uck then I'll stuff something up chronically

So this is a rough wiring diagram adapted from the badfelafel one http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/catflea/AGGYWiringracbodges_zpsb729368b.png The pink represents the two RAC bodges that are in place at the mo, A to AI and Permanent Live Fuse to switched fuse to bypass ignition because the sol...

Car not starting with ignition on.

OK, this is prob something really really simple, but I have been up all night and I can't work it out. When I got in the car last night the lights simply did not work, not a jot, and the RAC man bodged it by connecting the two right most terminals on the control box together (A and AI) with a wire - ...

Re: Pickup Project (Aka. Projekt Katy)

Okay... very little has happened with this :( Other priorities and vehicles have been getting in the way :s and I am now working in North Wales, nearly 300 mile from the pickup... The workshop is also full of other vehicles (well what did you expect???) There is a change in plan with the engine and...
