Re: Carbs and Dizzy

Hi Your right - I should have left the old carb on while setting up the dizzy - so will put the old carb back on today and set up the timing again and then put the new carb on and see what happens. The re-con carb I bought of ebay but I actually haven't looked at the internals as I assumed it would ...

Carbs and Dizzy

Hi All I have just replaced the dizzy with an electronic one and also put a new carb on. I have set the timing as per the book and she fires up with the use of the choke. The carb I set at 2.5 turns - however she will not rev and has now started to backfire. I put a color tune on her and the colour ...

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Well everything is now on hold untill I sort out the 1098 gearbox issue. I have taken the rear casing off the 803 and 1098 box as I want to keep the gear stick in the correct place for an SII and just need to find an engineering shop to do the milling. If anyone else has done this by just grinding o...

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Hi

Would anybody have a photo of the rear bumper mounts as they go through the boot?

I have had a new panel fitted and just want to make sure I am putting them back correctly - I have a feeling I have some holes to drill but am not sure.

All help and advice appreciated

Re: Re 1955 Split Screen

Thanks Mike

I didn't look that far back as the plastic cover only goes halfway. I think I might find some protective covering for the rest of the loom

Re: Re 1955 Split Screen

Right I have sorted out what wire is what But -and there is always a but - where does the loom run. I have worked out what goes through the bulkhead by the regulator and down to the front lights. There is a plastic sleeve on the loom that I believe runs down the gearbox tunnel - BUT where does it re...

Hi Thanks for that

The interior is Maroon and I have maroon carpets (look red to me) - just trying to sort out choke cables and switches of the right colour.

Have time for that though as I want all the running gear sorted first

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Well she is now painted and will be back in two weeks. The body shop just needs to finish painting the fiddly bits. The engine is finally built after a load of agro with a reground crank that had incorrect big end journals. The axle is completed and ready to fit. Just have all the wiring, brake syst...

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Thanks for the reply

I was hoping that was the answer as I have looked all over the internet and Sandy Beige was the only real answer I could find.

So Sandy Beige it is - and that means i should have the car back in two weeks

Re: 1955 Split Screen

Well the car is still in the bodyshop but I have now stripped the engine - rebuilt the axle (wheel bearings still to go) and have linked photobucket to my blog so all photos can now be seen. However - does anyone have a layout drawing of the wiring loom as when I get the car back I am not sure where...
