I thought my wording might cause confusion. The bleed nipples are of course attached to the rear cylinder, but they are on the master cylinder side of it, thus I wondered if a small pocket of air might be trapped in a new rear cylinder.

To answer my own question ,it seems from an earlier post that this is not a problem ?

Having to fit a new rubber gasket on the front tappet chest, the one with the breather. Are these fitted dry, or with sealant on one or both sides.
Also I realise the bolt should not be done up too tight, but how tight.

I have three Minor handbooks, and all show differing amounts of free play at the clutch pedal. The Olyslager manual shows 5/32 inch free play at the clutch pedal. Problem seems to be solved. I noticed the radiator flow seemed to be slow, inspection through the filler cap showed many blocked core tubes. ( I believe this was the original radiator), Anyhow, a new radiator seems
to have solved the problem.
