Re: lowlight headlights
I have a short piece of PVC hose that fits over the end of the bulb. It's a snug fit and enables the bulb to be wiggled from the headlight without the need for tiny fingers or long nose pliers. Most LED stop/tail globes are not very good. The tail side is fine but there's usually not a noticeable di...

Re: lowlight headlights
Any 5.75" sealed beam or H4 light will fit the lowlight. The only problem is that they're usually designed to be part of a quad headlamp set up so the high beam side is relatively weak as the 2nd set of lights covers that side of things. You might want to consider upgrading the wiring with rela...

Re: Early MM windscreen rubber... again
Old Auto Rubber will not be able to help, despite what their catalogue says. The early rubber was remade in a small length a few years ago by an MMOC member but that has all been accounted for unfortunately.

Re: 1948 MM arrived
That looks to be Bob Terry's old MM, I'm sure he's was #1125. If so, it made it's way to NSW about 10 years ago then seemingly disappeared.
The Sorbo door seal is basically round sponge rubber so it looks like it might be a similar material on your car.

My early car didn't have them fitted when I bought it, not sure if it ever had them fitted though. It still doesn't have them.

I tried an Austin Freeway (Australian 6cyl version of your Cambridge?) wheel a while ago, looks similar to yours.

Re: Traveller side window differences between SII & 1000?
Thanks Don. You haven't bought Mr Webb's car yet? I thought he must have parted with it long ago when he disappeared out of the club.
I'll have to bring my windows along to a run where I know there'll be a late Traveller & compare them; the memory bank isn't working well enough these days.

Traveller side window differences between SII & 1000?
I have a late Series II Traveller that is missing a few parts, mainly interior related but I'm also short of one sliding window. There's a set of sliding windows & other body panels for sale locally (only 2000km away) but they're from a 1000. Does anyone know if the side windows/catches are the ...

#2 is the identification details of the final prototype made before official production started. The first Morris Minor off the line was #501.
The 'EX' indicates that it could well have been re-numbered & sold under a different chassis/body number seeing as it was virtually a production vehicle.

Your first post shows the early L482 light & reflector.
Your second post shows a 1949 car with the L488 light.

Re: Luvax front dampers
I salvaged a similar pair off a '49 parts car (the one that went to heaven a few months ago), had them reco'd & fitted to my '48. I've picked up others at swap meets, normally labelled as MG TC dampers.

Is it legal in the UK? It's only OK to use hands free in Australia but there's some who want that banned too.
I still see people using them everyday though.

Re: 1952 MM Tourer sedan or is it a Tourer??
I've seen 2 genuine tourers/convertibles in Australia converted to sedans. One was owned by Russell Hooke & looked like a factory conversion/modification. The other was owned by myself but was a rough backyard job that used a 4 door roof. I'm sure the Russell Hooke car was a Series MM. IIRC, he ...

Here's FLA21 289785 after a long hibernation:
According to the numbers, it's a late '54 & one of the first 'update' Series II travellers.

Re: Low-light for sale on eBay
The steering wheel appears to be re-rimmed or restored as I haven't come across that colour on a factory wheel. Body colour had no bearing on the wheel colour though.
The ID tag should be screwed on but it's a reproduction plate anyway.
It does look like a very neat car all the same.
