Dear All, After quite some time and trail and error, I found what caused the vibration. That i would like to share with you, so others can benefit. After the last post, I have had another props shaft mounted, but it did not solve anything. So , just to be sure, I had my original propshaft balanced. ...

I have checked the front suspension and nothing is loose.
I strongly suspect the unbalance of the prop shaft now, as suggested in previous comments, especially after my test to engage neutral when driving and the vibration immediately got worse.

Steve, Thank you very much indeed for your offer and it would only take me 1,5 hrs drive to Antwerp (living in Utrecht), but...... From 7 to 21 August I will be in the UK on holiday, staying near Cheltenham :D . I was already searching for a Morris Minor Spares company in that area. Have you got a s...

I will, but if that's the case that surely could only be caused by a serious blow, couldn't it?

Okay, so this is what I did next: I changed the wheels, rearright to front left etc. Vibrations seemed to change as well when testdriving, but they did not disappear. So I had the wheels balanced. They appeared to be slighly out of balance (all four) so I hoped this would cure it. Testdriving proved...

Thank you all for your advice. I will check both the wheel by exchanging front and rear and will replace the UJ's in the prop. I have spare ones so this round will only cost me time. Next weekend I hope I can tell you if the problem is solved and what the cure was.

Thanks again.

I do not think it is the balance. I mean, at first there were no vibrations and nothing has been changed to the wheel(s).
To be sure I will check if the balancing weights are perhaps have come loose.

Strong vibration above 50 mph

In only a very short period of several weeks (with not much miles) my Morris (1963, 1098cc, RHD) developes very strong vibration at the front when the speed comes at 50 mph or above. No vibration at the steering wheel though. I checked if anything was loose, it wasn't. No play at the wheel bearing o...
