Yes I did, it's great fun driving a Morris in the snow drifting through the corners.
Although my girlfriend sitting next to me thought otherwise.

My other car is a........
Received the "my other car is a Morris Minor" decal today.
When the fog has cleared up it's going on the back window of my 1986 Lotus Excel.
If you have the decal, what's your other car?
Edward
PS; will post a pic

Re: Starting issue!
Playing around with jump leads revealed the problem, it was the earth!
Made a new earth cable connecting to the body and the engine.
Starts like new!
Thanks for your help,
Edward

Re: Starting issue!
I was thinking about making an "extra" earth point on one of the bolts fixing the starter motor, rules one option out.

Re: Starting issue!
Thanks for all the replies!
The starter motor is free.
this weekend I will renew all cables from the battery and check/make an earth from the gearbox.
Not a big job and with 50+ year old cables you never know.
Thanks

Re: Starting issue!
Forgot to mention, it does start with the handle.
I took the starter motor out, connected it directly to the battery and it works

Starting issue!
Hi there, A short time ago the starter switch failed (I thought), replaced the switch and she (59 build) was starting again. Now, a few weeks later, the same problem, probably wasn't the switch the first time. When I turn the key the ignition and oil light are on, when I pull the switch the go out b...

Re: Compressor or paint gun?
When going for the compressor look at the litres per minute, most cheap ones do 100-200 litres.
Most "good" sprayguns (Devilbiss, Sata or Iwata) need 300 to 400 litres of air per minute.

Re: Solenoid removal
Your absolutely right, it's not a solenoid, it's a pull/push switch.
Calling her a few nasty things, getting my arms cut in return, finally removed the switch.
Struggled with fitting the new one, then found out that the new switch has metric nuts!
Starts and runs as new now,
Edward

Re: Solenoid removal
Pressing the button does nothing, connecting the two terminals with a starter cable does work. Must be the solenoid. Even with the glove-box removed it's very tight. Removing the cable from the solenoid was easy, think I will just drill a new hole for the new solenoid and leave the old one where it ...

Solenoid removal
Hi there,
The starter solenoid is gone, connecting the terminals with a starter cable runs the starter-motor.
Is there an easy way to remove the thing, can hardly get my hands in there.
Thanks for any advice,
Edward
PS; it's a '59

Roofrack fittings
Hi there,
My 59 Morris came with an "original" roofrack but the fittings to secure the rack to the roofrails are missing. Is it possible that someone could help me out with some pictures?
Edward
